what is worship??? day 5

Today (WED) was a great day!!!  Last night I got to worship with my parents here at 2nd, Baptist.  They came and entertained at our senior adult banquet. It was really great.  I Love my Mom and Dad and realize that they live a life of joyful worship.  They would probably not agree, but their lives are a true picture of what worship is all about. Today I am going to try and enlighten you about how worship leads us to a life of Joy.  Its kinda an obvious fact, but here goes.

Psalm 40:16 But all who search for You will be filled with joy and gladness.  May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “The LORD is great!”

     My next Point is that…

4. Worship must be filled with Joy.

Sometimes, many times we would not worship if our worship was based where we are in life, or how we feel.  If our worship was based on feeling, then many times we would not want to worship.  However, we do and are worshipping based on our salvation.  Our salvation does not have ups and downs.  We may have ups and downs spiritually, but our salvation does not falter or waver.  The security of our salvation that we have in Jesus is nothing that anyone touch.  We get to worship because of that.  Think about our salvation that God has given us, and what he has done for us. If you need a motivation for pure worship, there it is– Your salvation.

If you live a life of worship then the Joy of the Lord would be evident in your life.  Have you really grasped the fact that God gave His only son Jesus to die a cruel death just for you, so that you could have eternal life in Heaven forever.  If you have a bad day or week and don’t “feel” like worshipping, then remember that next time.

Micah, Aunt Sheree and I were reading your blog and she said this comment, “Christ died a cruel suffering death for us and our sins are already forgiven, even in the future. Wow! We sin without thinking sometimes, but consciously when we think ahead of time we say “I don’t want to do that, because of what Jesus did for me.” This gives us JOY! We want to worship Him because of what He’s done and is doing for us.
Thanks for your sweet words about your Dad and I. That’s encouraging!

Sheree wants you to know that she will always pray for you and Brandi.
