3 elements on Worship

Hey, God is doing some GREAT things in the hearts at Second Baptist Church.  Brandi and I are having a blast serving here with you.  WE are excited about what God has already done in the last 3 months, thats right we have been here 3 months tomorrow.  But most importantly, we can’t wait to see what God is going to do, both in us and through us.  We leave for youth camp on Monday the 26th, so please pray for us next week. Here’s a little bit more on worship, sorry i love this topic.

Three very simple elements of worship that we need to be aware of are: worship creates hunger, raise your praise, and let God find you.

1.Worship Creates Hunger- As the deer pants for the streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” (Psalm 42:1-2)  When is the last time that you said, “when can I go meet with God?”  Satisfaction and hunger are created simultaneously when we enter the Lords presence in worship.  Are you hungry for His presence?

            2. Raise Your Praise-Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. How awesome is The LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth!” (Psalm 47:1) Think about the last high-school football game that you went to that was quiet the whole time…….. still thinking? Why? Because the fans are worshiping what’s happening on the field.  When you allow God to be active in your field of life you will respond with praise.

            3. Let God Find You- “Yet a time is coming and has now come when true worshippers will worship the Father is spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers that the Father seeks.” (John 4:23)  The two requirements of worship are “spirit and truth”.  Does your worship reflect those requirements?  God is looking for us!  Our Father is seeking after us! Will he find you worshipping?

Micah, Dad says to tell you, “that was very good.” You know I am still learning to worship the Holy, Almighty, God of the universe.
I guess I will still be learning throughout eternity.Of course, we know that this is the hightest goal of the Christian, to worship our creator and bring Him glory. That is why Jesus came. To give us life, that we in turn may bring glory to the Father. Thank you for bringing glory to the Father and encouraging others to do so also. Looking forward to seeing you and Brandi next week. I have been and will be praying for you all next week at camp.
    Love ya lots,
