Tonight I had the grand privilege of being at two of the worst church softball games that I have probably ever witnessed in my life, actually i did not just get to just watch them I got to participate in them. The second game we got beat 21 to 1, of course it was called in the fifth inning (10 run rule limit)… barely. I still had a great time even though I played HORRIBLE. I got a good workout and drank a bunch of gatorade, blue Gatorade. It was great.
The trouble started when about 4-5 usual key players did not show up. Everybody playing the outfield could have been, and probably wanted to be, in the infield. Other than the pitchers and the short-stop just about everybody else was somewhat out of place. You know, our lives are much like this. God has given each of us a position that He wants us to play in His game, the game called life. He is our coach and we are to listen to what He wants us to do, He is always right. You may have to read this passage slowly to get it…
1-3 We’ve been hearing about this, God, all our lives.
Our fathers told us the stories
their fathers told them,
How single-handedly you weeded out the godless
from the fields and planted us,
How you sent those people packing
but gave us a fresh start.
We didn’t fight for this land;
we didn’t work for it—it was a gift!
You gave it, smiling as you gave it,
delighting as you gave it.
God has planted us and given us a fresh start. The godless he has sent packing, that’s crazy. God has purposefully given us all so much to be thankful for. We are really just LOSERS…. without HIM. I’m glad that Jesus makes me cool, He makes me a winner.
Do you fill like a winner today??? If you have a relationship with Jesus you are, for sure.
